After playing on three teams last year, the Chicago Sky re-signed the four year veteran.

After the tumultuous season where Jordan Hooper was traded twice, the Chicago Sky have decided to resign the four year pro.

Hooper is a 6’2″ forward out of Nebraska who was taken with the 13th pick of the 2014 draft by the Tulsa Shock. She played three years for the franchise before signing on with the Connecticut Sun at the start of last season.

From there, in a league which has very few trades, Hooper was traded to the Atlanta Dream. However, she should not have unpacked her bags as she was traded again from the Dream to the Sky.

It seems Hooper found a niche for herself in Chicago, scoring six or more points seven times, in just ten games. She also collected three or more rebounds five times in the same time frame.

Hooper is not guaranteed minutes for the Sky next season, It will all depend on the direction they choose to go in the draft. If they selecta player like Gabby Williams, who is a talented two-way player, Hooper may find herself on the bench for extended periods of time.

However, as she showed when she played for the Canberra Capitals in the Australian WNBL, she can be a force to be reckoned with. She averaged 11.75 points and 4.95 rebounds per game.

Her 3-point shooting is the keys to Hooper’s game. Of the 555 total shots Hooper has taken for her career, 408 of them have been from beyond the arc. This is almost 74 percent of all her shot attempts.

The Sky have Stefanie Dolson and Allie Quigley who are talented 3-point shooters but adding Alaina Coates and two high level draft picks, coach Amber Stocks may be looking for more floor spacing. Time will tell.
