With no preseason games being played by the Phoenix Mercury yet, this week’s Monday Mercury is headlined by the multi year deal for Leilani Mitchell.
Australian Leilani Mitchell has signed a two year deal according to the official Phoenix Mercury website. Click here for the full story. Mitchell is a nine year veteran out of the university of Utah. She is a tremendously talented 3-point shooter and is going to be a solid bench bench, providing spark every time she hits the court.
With the signing of Briann January, Mitchell has lost the starting job but this will only drive the 5-foot-5 point guard even harder. For a nice little highlights package watch the below link.
Bonner is back
There was a lot of excitement when news of DeWanna Bonner returning hit the WNBA sites and twitter feeds. Well, she is back in Mercury gear and back on the court. Her return is official as she has come back on court during training camp with Diana Taurasi. No one runs on with Taurasi unless they mean it.
Don’t the Mercury faithful love having her back.
On the 15th of May Mercury players are trading places with the employees of Frys food stores
@FrysFoodStores as a community building exercise. They will be working all over the store including checking out the customers. They will be there from 2-3 pm on the 15th.
