Last season, prior to the return of Courtney Vendersloot the Chicago Sky were a terrible team. In fact, it cost them a berth in the playoffs. This season, the Sky are a vastly different team.

Gabby Williams was the fourth pick in the 2018 WNBA draft. She has struggled a litle to find her feet, she was not herself in the preseason. Last game she scored four points on 2-of-7 shooting. However, Diamond DeShields was able to carry the load last game.

This game DeSheilds would go 2-of-7 but Williams was able to step up. In just under 19 minutes Williams went 5-of-7 from the field, good for 14 points. She only collected two rebounds and three steals but it was a night which showcased Williams true potential.

She was helped by the fact that Allie Quigley was on fire. Quigley scored 22 points on 7-of-13 shooting including 2-of-4 from deep. She went to the line seven times making sic of them.

In the battle for the reserve point guard minutes when Vandersloot returns Jamierra Faulkner took a huge step forward. In her 23 minutes she scored 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting including 2-of-3 from deep. She also collected five rebounds and gave out five assists.

Once again Alaina Coates put in a solid showing going a perfect 4-of-4 in 15 minutes for eight points. If she can continue this output she could easily get 20 minutes a night.

The Sky have been a surprise this season. They were expected to win the first game agains the Indiana Fever. However, the Liberty would have pencilled this game in as a win. The Sky can really set their season up with a win against the new look Atlanta Dream.
