Kelsey Mitchell going to be a great scorer in this league. In just her third game she got to the 20 point mark.

Kelsey Mitchell is going to be the real deal. Having scored the second most points in NCAA women’s basketball behind only Kelsey Plum, Mitchell was always going to be good.

In her first game she struggled, scoring only five points of 2-of-8 shooting. In her second game she came alive with 16 points on 5-of-11 shooting. However, she showed against last season’s runners up, the Los Angeles Sparks, that she will not be overawed with any situation.

Playing against the second best professional team in the world Mitchell went 6-of-15 from the field. She si still struggling a little with the WNBA perimeter defense as she was 2-of-9 from deep but made up for it at the line with 6-of-6.

Mitchell is not afraid. She was finding her spots and pulling the trigger. When she was inside the arc, Mitchell was 6-of-8, not bad against the Sparks. When she is able to get her radar locked in from deep, she is going to be close on unstoppable.

What the performance also tells me is that Mitchell is going to lead this team when she has a little more experience. Evan Candice Dupree was struggling against the Sparks. If Victoria Vivians can find her range, spacing the floor, this Fever team is going to be even harder to stop.

If she keeps playing like this it may not be long until Mitchell replaces Erica Wheeler in the starting line up.
