In what is going to be a very quiet free agent period the Las Vegas Aces have re-signed Dearica Hamby.

The Las Vegas Aces had a tremendous season last year, only just missing out on the playoffs. They did this through Bill Laimbeer wheeling and dealing in free agency last year. This means that unless they make some trades, 2019 free agency is going to be quiet.

However, in saying that they still have one or two decisions to make, one of these was the re-signing of Dearica Hamby. The four year veteran has made a living coming off the bench, especially in the last two years.

Last season Hamby was at her most efficient from the floor. In 14.4 minutes, the least of her career, Hamby averaged 7.4 points per game, which is just under her career average of 7.5 points per game. Her 52.6 percent from the floor was by far and away the best in her career, comparing favourably to her 43.8 percent career number.

Hamby was a spark plug off the bench last season, when Laimbeer started playing her for decent minutes. If this team is going to make a push to go to the playoffs and then hopefully deep, it will be on the back of depth. Hamby can, and will, take it to any team in the league.
