The Atlanta Dream have signed veteran forward Lynetta Kizer to a contract, loading up for a potential championship run.

After a really busy offseason last year, the Atlanta Dream were quiet this year. They bhave tinkered at the very edges of their roster signing both Blake Dietrick and Haley Peters to deals. They lost Damiris Dantas to the Minnesota Lynx in fre agency meaning they had a roster spot free.

They filled it with Lynetta Kizer, the seven year veteran who has played on eight teams. Kizer shows that there is value in the third round, having been taken with the 29th pick in the 2012 draft.

Kizer is an athletic player who is strong on the glass. Her career averages of 5.8 points and 2.8 rebounds per game have come in just 12.9 minutes over her career. Last season Kizer played 14 games for the Minnesota Lynx before being waived, averaging 1.6 points and 1.5 rebounds.

The season before Kizer played for the Connecticut Sun where Nicki Collen was the assistant coach so the two have history. This means that she should be able to slot into a role quite easily on a potential championship winning roster.

She will take the majority of the minutes that were previously given to Dantas last season. Kizer, is a proven veteran who is only missing the range that Dantas was developing. However, her presence may help this team out of some tough situations down the stretch of games.
