Four year pro Amanda Zahui B signed on for a multi year deal with the New York Liberty.

There were very few shining lights last season for the New York Liberty. The play of Tina Charles is always great, the emergence of rookie Kia Nurse was pretty special too. However, in her fourth year, Amanda Zahui B came into her own in terms of efficiency on the offensive end.

In what could almost be considered a career year, Zahui B scored 7.7 points per game, which is her highest average over the past four years. On top of this Zahui B averaged 0.7 assists which is almost double her career number. While this may not look like much it shows that she is more active on offense which is always going to take pressure of superstar Charles.

Zahui B has shone under new coach Katie Smith and will be worth watching again this season. She shot the ball at 50 percent from the floor and it was not just on offensive boards and points in the paint. Zahui B shot the ball at 34.4 percent from deep.

She also took 61 shots from deep, this is compared to 60 shots from deep over her first three seasons. She also had 21 makes on the year, ¬†compared to 17 over her first three seasons. Not bad for a 6’5″ center.

Zahui B has played all but one of her 122 games off the bench. She is turning into the spark plug for the Liberty and is simply getting better. This season the Liberty are hoping she can grow more in 2019 to help get them back towards the playoffs.
