The Indiana Fever finished ninth last season. Despite only just missing the playoffs they decided to replace Pokey Chatman as head coach.

The Indiana Fever had a very up and down year in 2019. They lost Victoria Vivians to injury at the start of the season and were last in the WNBA for the early part. Then they got it together and put a run on, finishing just outside the playoffs in ninth.

During the off season the front office removed head coach Pokey Chatman, replacing her with Marianne Stanley. The Fever got a good look at their future, with Kelsey Mitchell and Teaira McCowan showing signs of the players they will become.

This season the Fever will get Vivians back as well as having the 3rd, 16th and 28th picks in the 2020 WNBA draft. Lets take a look at the players the Fever have the ability to re-sign.

Betnijah Laney

Betnijah Laney had a great season in 2019. She played all 34 games, starting 27 of them. She averaged 5.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game in 25.8 minutes of action per contest.

However, after Laney moved into the starting unit the Fever began to win games. Her defense is high level and when she was on the court, she was the defensive quarterback, often slowing the oppositions best player down. This skillset is highly valued around the league meaning the Fever will have competition for her signature.

Erica McCall

Erica McCall played only 15 games last season  She only averaged 1.8 rebounds and 0.9 points per game in just 6.9 minutes of action. With Vivians coming back, the Fever will probably not re-sign McCall. They might offer her a training camp contract but will most probably cut her for the player they select with the 3rd pick.

Tiffany Mitchell

Tiffany Mitchell had a solid season last year. She played in 33 games, starting 14. She gave up the starting spot to Kelsey Mitchell who will keep it long term now. Tiffany Mitchell averaged 9.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.

Her shooting was not the greatest, going 38.1 percent from the floor, 29.0 percent from deep and a really solid 89.2 percent from the line. Mitchell is a starting calibre p[layer who is able to lead the second unit effectively. The Fever will be very keen to re-sign her.
