A year after the Liz Cambage trade, one of the major pieces of that trade Moriah Jefferson re-signs with the Dallas Wings

The Dallas Wings have had a tumultuous year and a half where they replaced a coach, traded away one of the most talentedpl ayers in the game due to a demand and then lost their other star to pregnancy.

Now the Wings are faced with another trade demand from Skylar Diggins-Smith but this demand has been offset by the signing of the incredibly talented Moriah Jefferson. The guard has yet to play for the Wings after sitting out last season again with injury.

Jefferson was a key piece from the Las Vegas Aces in the Liz Cambage trade, despite the Wings being aware that she would most probably not play last season. Jefferson was going to be a key to the future of the Wings.

She is supremely talented and exciting to watch. Her step back 3-point shots are something to behold and she already has a chemistry with Isabelle Harrison, who also just re-signed with the Wings.

What is most exciting about the Jefferson signing is the combination she will be able to form with last years rookie sensation Arike Ogunbowale. In her first season Ogunbawale averaged an insane 19.1 points per game on a losing franchise.

This season with Jefferson running the show Ogunbowale’s scoring number might dip but with the talent that is Jefferson running the show, Ogunbawale will find herself more open.

The Wings have managed to deal Diggins-Smith to the Phoenix Mercury, at the time of writing the details of the deal have yet to be released. Hopefully the Wings have been able to leverage talent and draft assets for Diggins-Smith.
