After an unspectacular rookie year with the Dallas Wings, Megan Gustafson signs a multi year deal with the franchise.

After her rookie season, there was much speculation as to what would happen to Megan Gustafson. Fortunately for the ex Iowa standout she was able to secure a multi year deal with the Wings franchise.

After only averaging 2.9 points and 2.5 rebounds per game, Gustafson has a long way to go to reach her potential. She almost did not have the chance to average these numbers after she was cut from the final Wings roster prior to last season.

Fortunately Gustafson was called back into service for the Wings after their horrible 0-5 start and she played almost every game from then on. Gustafson has since gone over to Hungary and is averaging 16.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.

Gustafson is going to get a greater opportunity to show her wares this season after the Wings traded Azura Stevens to the Chicago Sky. This will allow for more game time and the ability to show more of what she is capable of.

With ย the addition of Katie Lou Samuelson who was the player received back in the Stevens trade the Wings are developing a really nice young core who are going to grow together through game time.

They have one of the best coaches in the game in Brian Agler so the developmental side of the franchise is in good hands. Look for this core to compete for playoffs in two or three season. Gustafson should be a big part of that.
